Tamarack Art Gallery opens new exhibition in small proportions
BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – Tamarack is launching their new art gallery exhibit, Small Packages, just in time for the holidays and to give the family art lover an art gift this Christmas.
“The idea is that good things come in small packages.”
Offering a variety of unique paintings and sculptures, the exhibition features works of art measuring 12 inches by 12 inches and less, and at more affordable costs.
And this time without a specific theme, artists were given the freedom to create any type of art they felt like doing, giving art lovers a lot more variety but in much smaller proportions.
“We have a whole range of artwork, but they’re just a bit smaller,” says gallery director Mandy Lash.
And while the country’s supply chain may be shorter this year, the Small Packages exhibit is not, as it is one of the largest exhibits the gallery has seen.
Mandy Lash, gallery director at Tamarack, says that with the issues of online shopping and shipping, there’s no better time to shop locally and give the special gift of Virginia-made art -Western this season.
“This year might not be such a great idea, it might not be a possibility, so with an exhibition like this, it’s a great time to support your community, support your artists and give something truly sentimental to the people you love, ”Lash says.
The Petits Colis exhibition will be at Tamarack until January 2, 2022, and it is open every day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. except Tuesday.
