The NIST OWM Laboratory Metrology Program has taken over Regional Measurement Assurance Program (RMAP) in-person training events after more than two years. Annual in-person RMAP training events have been a longtime NIST OWM activity to support state weights and measures laboratories, since the 1990s. Southeast Measurement Assurance Program (SEMAP) participants , the Western Regional Assurance Program (WRAP) and the North East Measurement Assurance Program (NEMAP) were able to meet in their regions, network, share experiences and receive training on various topics of metrology.

Training topics this year included technical management concepts, quality management tools, and software verification and validation procedures. More than 60 participants have successfully completed the training. OWM thanks the State Metrology Laboratories of Kentucky, Nevada, and New Jersey for graciously planning and hosting the training events for their respective regions. Upcoming regional training events will be hosted by the New Mexico and Wisconsin Metrology Laboratories for the Southwest Assurance Program (SWAP) and MidAmerica Measurement Assurance Program (MidMAP) regions, respectively. RMAP training events could not be sustained and executed without the unwavering support and tireless work of our hosts at the State Laboratory.
