Stokes County Co-op Extension has scheduled these upcoming events:

Parasite and Faecal Egg Count Workshop — Topics will include: management of internal and external parasites for all species of livestock, the use of faecal egg counts for management decisions, and the process of counting faecal eggs. April 28 from 6 p.m. at the Cooperative Extension office, 700 North Main Street in Danbury. Registration is $5 and will cover the cost of necessary supplies. Register at go.ncsu.edu/parasites.

Piedmont Regional Goat and Sheep Conference — Topics will include: forages, pasture management, handling demonstrations and FAMACHA. Participants will have the option of attending a FAMACHA certification class upon completion ($16). This conference is designed for beginners and advanced growers. May 6 at the NC A&T Pavilion, 3020 McConnell Road in Greensboro. Register at go.ncsu.edu/prsgczz. Early bird registration: $20 (deadline May 2); at the door: $25 (dinner included).

bookworm gardener — Are you an avid bookworm who wants to learn more about gardening and translate those book ideas into a garden of reality? Join the Stokes County Cooperative Extension for two free classes and learn the basics of gardening, container gardening, raised bed gardening, and more.
